I wanted to take this opportunity to announce this year's nominees and winner for the First Annual Craplet Awards. Not sure what Craplet means? Have no fear, answers are here. A Craplet (singular) is one of those unwanted programs (pre-installed software) that comes on your computer (PC), that does nothing but take up space, and aid the process of freezing up your computer, normally begging you to upgrade to non-free versions.
So to put an end to the suspense, and without further ado, this year's nominees for the Worst Craplet of the Year are:
1. AOL Trial 2. RealTray 3. Corel WordPerfect 4. Music Match Jukebox 5. Internet Services Offers Launcher
(queue suspense music).
And the winner is: Music Match CrapBox, I mean Jukebox!
(queue cheesy feel good music)
Music Match JukeCrapBox came on the seen many years ago as a respectable MP3 player and CD - MP3 Ripper. But over the years the program has been bloated and complicated, fighting to become your "default" music player, despite the fact that the program takes longer to open the Adobe Acrobat Reader and hangs in a PC freeze longer than a dead rotting cow carcass in a meat locker. Its complex yet bugged file tagging methods, accidental yet frequent read only file conversions, and it's innate ability to NOT understand that it should NOT launch automatically every time the CD tray closes has led the program down the path to becoming the single worst Craplet in the history of time, not only this years unanimous winner.
Congratulations to Music Match CrapBox!
